Hunt Ready: Crafting Your Essential Packing List for an Unforgettable Safari Adventure

Travel Essentials:

Passport:

Make sure your passport is valid and has two blank pages. Passport applications can take up to 6 months.

Air Travel:

Have your airline ticket, travel insurance, and cash/credit cards for purchases. Notify your credit card company about your African travel.

Clothing:

Dress in layers for temperatures ranging from 30-90°F. When it comes to safari gear, it is advisable to bring 3 to 4 sets of clothes, as daily laundry services are available. Include hunting shirts, pants, shorts, underwear, socks, T-shirts, sweater, warm jacket or fleece, waterproof windbreaker, ball cap/hunting hat, vest, gloves, and comfortable shoes for hunting.

Hunting Gear:

Bring your rifle and ammunition, an airline-approved rifle case, soft gun case, gun cleaning kit, binoculars, optional knife, camera with extra batteries, electric travel adapter (South Africa uses 220-volt electricity), and a small flashlight.

Personal Gear:

Pack a small medical kit with prescription medication, headache medication, band-aids, allergy medication, and lip balm. Include insect repellent, sunblock, toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shaving supplies), washcloth, and tissues.

Additional Items:

Bring a journal to record your experiences and an address book with phone numbers and email addresses for communication during your South African adventure with us.
